We test every combination.

In our Mataró workshop we test every combination of cable, gripper and fixing. Results are added to the data sheet of each product as testing is completed.

  1. Breaking loadStatic tension to failure. The declared working load is at most one fifth of it.
  2. Slip under loadSustained load for hours: the cable must not move in the gripper.
  3. Panel fixingPull-out of clips, inserts and spirals in each material and thickness.
  4. Cable angleReduction of working load at 15°, 30°, 45° and 60° inclination.
  5. TraceabilityBatch number on every box, linked to its incoming, assembly and test records.

Reference standards

We do not make up our own test methods: we follow the methods of the European standards used by suspended-ceiling manufacturers, so any engineer can compare.

EN 13964:2014

Suspended ceilings · suspension components

Static test of metal suspension components (clause 5.3) and functional test of the suspension component (Annex G). The basis of our test bench.

In-house method
EN 13964 (J)

Baffles · safety against failure

Mechanical strength of suspended baffles (Annex J): the reference for our U-clips and spirals.

In-house method
EN 13501-1

Reaction to fire · A1

Metal components without an organic coating (galvanised or zinc-plated steel, nickel-plated brass, stainless steel) are class A1 without testing under Decision 96/603/EC. Black and white finishes have no determined classification.

Classified without testing
ISO 9227

Corrosion · salt spray

Neutral salt-spray chamber for finishes and coatings. Durability class on the same table used for suspended ceilings.

In-house method
EN 12385-4 · EN 10244-2

7×7 steel wire rope

Construction, wire strength and zinc coating with reference to the European standards for wire ropes and galvanised wire.

In-house method
5:1

Safety factor 5:1

The working load is at most one fifth of the minimum measured breaking load, with vertical cable and static load. At an angle it is reduced.

Design rule
DS-G · EN 13964

External test of the critical part

The gripper is the part the whole system depends on. That is why, besides our in-house bench, it will be tested by an external laboratory (AENOR) to EN 13964. We will publish the full report here.

Factory production control

1Incoming inspectionEvery batch of cable and components arrives with a supplier certificate and is checked with a sample tensile test.
2AssemblyKits are assembled and swaged in Mataró. Every swage is checked with a go / no-go gauge.
3SamplingFrom every batch, random parts are broken on the bench. The batch ships only if all exceed the minimum load.
4TraceabilityBatch number on every box, linked to its incoming, assembly and test records.
